Bob The Vid Tech is
on a well deserved vacation at the beach - when suddenly a message in a
bottle washes up on shore! Someone is in trouble, but they didnt sign
the note. Where is it from? How can Bob find out? And who the heck sends
messages in a bottle these days?
Starring Emmy Award
winning Bob Heck as MPTs kid show host Bob The Vid Tech,
and his talented Vid Tech apprentice Parris Lane (aka Brianna),
Bob the Vid Tech: Message in a Bottle takes children on a tour of
how humankind communicates - with languages, the mail, telephones and computers.
Its a mix of history, old fashioned ingenuity and gee-whiz science
for kids!

Language &
The Written Word:
Bob meets a Georgetown
University expert who explains how the spoken word has evolved over time,
expanded into over 6,000 languages around the world, and how some of them
sound.

The Mail:
Bob visits the National
Postal Museum in Washington, DC to learn why we write letters, how the mail
service began in the U.S., how it is transported and what it takes to get
to your front door.

Phones &
Cell Phones:
Bob realizes that
perhaps the numbers in the message may be a phone number! He meets with
the phone company in Baltimore, MD., and discovers how telephones were invented,
how they work and why phones and cell phones have boomed into the popular
communication tool that they are today.

Email &
The Internet:
Computers are humming
across the country, connected by a tapestry of wires that form the internet.
Bob joins two teachers and a class of children at the University of Maryland,
College Park who help explain it all, and tell us how an email can fly around
the world in seconds.
But who could have
sent that message?

Stay
tuned for the conclusion of
BOB
THE VID TECH: MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE!
