After a hard day of playing, Bob and his friends sure are hungry.  It’s time for lunch!  Who wants to make a pizza?  

Bob heads out to the supermarket.   He opens the doors and...whoah! 
The supermarket is entirely empty! There’s no food at all? What is going on here???  Where did all the food go???

Fruit & Vegetable Farms

Bob takes a tour of a fruit and vegetable farm and learns how things are planted and how they grow.  He learns about tilling the land, planting the seeds, watering and the people that do all the work!

Farmers grow corn, apples, lettuce, squash, string beans, carrots, potatoes peppers and so much more!  Have you ever tried to grow a tomato plant?  What do they need to survive?  And is a tomato a vegetable or a fruit?

Animal Farms

So what about those hamburgers Momma Vid Tech just made for the family?  And that giant glass of milk Bob drank this morning? 

Bob learns some amazing things on his visit to an animal farm.  Did you know that a baby cow—called a calf—drinks two gallons of milk a day?  Watch Bob milk a cow, and meet hundreds of baby turkeys!

Kids & Agriculture

So how can kids get involved in agriculture?  Bob visits the Maryland State Fair to meet kids in 4-H to find out why they’ve gotten interested in farming.  

Why do the kids love what they do?   A lot goes into caring for an animal.  Meet a young Vid Kid who can take care of a 1400 pound steer! 

What exactly does 4-H mean?   Can Bob and Sid the Vid Fish compete with the best of the best?  See if he has what it takes!

The Finale

Bob has learned everything about food—from how you plant it, grow it and how it gets to our tables—but he still can’t explain why the grocery store is empty!  Where did the food go?
