How do you get from here to there? How do you get anywhere? Bob the Vid Tech just got a phone call - and his relatives can't wait to see him later that day at the family reunion - in Cucamonga, California! Bob forgot all about it. How on earth can he make it across the country? By plane, train or automobile?

Starring Bob Heck as MPT's kid show host, BOB THE VID TECH: PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES takes children on a tour of the many methods of transportation we use today. With his childlike curiosity, Bob visits places and professionals who know their stuff at the College Park Aviation Museum, BWI Airport, the B&O Railroad Museum, the Maryland Department of Transportation and the PBS show MotorWeek to figure out how he can possibly get to his family reunion in Cucamonga, California.

With the help of the MPT Super Computer, we look for various ways for Bob to travel. Then Bob heads off to find out more about everything in person! In between each visit, Bob checks with the Super Computer to see what could be next.

Planes:

Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane - it's a jumbo jet! We visit the College Park Aviation Museum and the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to learn all about air travel. How does a plane really work? Who flies them? How fast? And did you know the Wright Brothers flew at College Park?

Trains:

What's that rumbling down the tracks? A train! We head to the birthplace of American Railroading - the B&O Railroad Museum - and finds out about America's railway system - how it all started, when it all began, where it goes and how many people use it daily.

Automobiles:

Bob accidentally appears in an episode of MotorWeek - television's original automotive program - and meets host John Davis! Bob explains his problem, and asks all about cars. When were they invented? How do they work? What is the future of automobiles? Then, visit the Maryland Department of Transportation to learn how the highway system really works! How old do you have to be to drive anyway?

The Finale:

We've seen it all - but what can Bob do? He doesn't have his driving license yet, he missed the train and the plane! How can he get to Cucamonga?
