Living Wage in Baltimore City

The Baltimore City Council recently considered a bill by Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke that would require large retailers in the city to pay employees a "living wage" of $10.59 per hour. Proponents claim it would help workers who do not earn enough money to support their families stay off government assistance, while opponents claim it will drive business growth away from the city.
