MPT, AFI Celebrate 20th Latin American Film Festival with Free Screening
Historic theater honors excellence in film making during Hispanic Heritage Month
Owings Mills, MD-Filmmaker Adriana Bosch will join MPT for a free preview screening of Latin Music USA followed by an audience Q&A and reception at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center in Silver Spring, MD, on September 27 at 5:30pm.
Showcasing exceptional filmmaking from Latin America, Portugal and Spain, The Latin American Film Festival will screen selections from Latin Music USA, a four part PBS series that traces the roots of Latin music and its influence on American culture from the rise of Latin jazz in the 1950's and 60's to the explosion of Latin pop at the turn of the century.
For over two decades Bosch has produced, written, edited and directed numerous political and social documentaries. The Cuban-born filmmaker has won several awards, including a primetime Emmy and a Peabody award for her work on PBS's American Experience. Guests who wish to attend will have the opportunity to meet with Bosch at a reception following the screening.
