Sales Executive

MPT Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation affiliated with Maryland Public Television. Our mission is to promote and support MPT by soliciting, managing and overseeing private and corporate funds that are raised to preserve and expand the services and activities of Maryland Public Television.

MPT Foundation, Inc. seeks an experienced Sales Executive to join our team of talented Public TV sales professionals. Candidate will be responsible for contacting potential clients (corporations, companies and non-profit organizations) for television sponsorships. Will schedule, prepare and conduct presentations, close sales, coordinate contract preparation and spot production requests, and service/manage accounts.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of three to five years experience in outside sales or marketing. Additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Excellent writing and presentation skills are essential. TV and/or Radio sales experience preferred. A valid Maryland driver’s license is also required.

This is a contract position. We offer a competitive base salary of $45,000.00 and an attractive commission structure designed to substantially increase earnings. In addition, we offer a benefit package which includes health and prescription options and a generous leave program.

Avid Editor [Contract Position]

Maryland Public Television is a leader in the production of broadcast programming for public television. MPTýs national and local/regional television credits include documentary, public affairs, original performance and entertainment programs for the PBS system and the citizens of Maryland to further fulfill MPT's mission to engage, enlighten and entertain.

MPT has an immediate need to build its contract pool of experienced Avid Symphony editors. This is a freelance contract position working a variety of hours. Contract editors are called when projects need additional editing. Our state of the art facility has a campus-like setting with plenty of free parking. Located in Owings Mills, MPT is an easy commute from anywhere in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

We require Avid Symphony experience. Unity, Adobe Photoshop, Aftereffects and Illustrator skills are a must. Avid DS experience is a plus. Candidates called for interviews will be required to complete a skills test.

Director, Station Relations

Maryland Public Television is a leader in the production of broadcast programming for public television. MPT's local/regional television credits include public affairs, original performance, documentary and entertainment programs for the citizens of Maryland. Our state of the art television facility is located in Owings Mills, MD, in Baltimore County. The campus-like setting provides plenty of free parking and is an easy commute from any location in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced station relation professional. This individual will serve as our liaison to PBS, national networks (APT, NETA), national underwriters, and various MPT departments and producers with regard to program carriage and related events. The ideal candidate will possess strong business writing capability and the ability to establish and maintain positive, working relationships with key personnel at all US public television stations. 

The ideal candidate will create a station relations strategy for implementing national productions, maintain carriage reports on all national productions and coordinate all aspects of marketing a new series to all public television stations. Will coordinate and execute MPT-sponsored national events and meetings and will prepare and produce marketing materials that assist with obtaining and maintaining carriage. Will research, track and analyze ratings and demographics for public television stations and MPT national productions.

We require a BA in Mass Communications, Public Relations or a related field and
five years of experience in station relations, promotions or marketing. Additional related media experience may be substituted for degree. Knowledge of public television, Nielsen ratings and DMA ranks and television program scheduling highly desired. Candidates selected for interview will be asked to bring a writing sample.

We offer an excellent state of Maryland benefit package that includes a variety of health and dental options, a prescription program, and a generous leave plan.
Salary: $54,000.00-$60,900.00, based on experience.

Telephone Fundraising Representatives

Maryland Public Television is a leader in the production of broadcast programming for public television. MPT's local/regional television credits include public affairs, original performance, documentary and entertainment programs for the citizens of Maryland. Beyond broadcast, MPT creates instructional videos, develops training and builds Internet sites that serve tens of thousands of students, teachers and child-care providers annually. MPT outreach activities, especially relating to arts, culture and history, take place in all areas of the state to further fulfill MPT's mission to engage, enlighten and entertain.

We are currently seeking Telephone Fundraising Representatives to join our team of talented professionals. MPT's telephone based fundraising program offers part-time, flexible positions for persons with outstanding telephone skills, some telemarketing or fundraising experience, and a friendly, outgoing personality! Our representatives contact members and other donors to explain the benefits of membership and to solicit membership, renewal of membership or other donations. These are part-time, evening, contractual positions starting at a rate of $8.00/ hour plus bonuses.
