An ArtWorks This Week Special

Drawn To The Light: Portraits of Baltimore & Brittany

Château de Rochefort In 1907 Alfred Klots was a major Baltimore portrait painter. That year, he acquired a chateau in Brittany, France. Little did he realize the power the place would have on him, or his son, Trafford, who also became a painter. Chateau Rochefort en Terre ended up playing a role in both World Wars, and today, Isabel Klots, Trafford's widow, continues to maintain the chateau as an artist's paradise. Mid-career artists can apply to spend time there through the Maryland Institute College of Art.

This ArtWorks This Week special repeats Friday, May 5th at 11:30pm, and Saturday, May 6th at 8am.
