Duff Goldman
Baker/Owner, Charm City Cakes
"Always Fresh, All The Time" is the slogan for Charm City Cakes. Not only does it describe the quality of the cake, but also its originality. Motivated by making beautiful, challenging, one-of-a-kind cakes, the artists of Charm City Cakes try to top their last masterpiece while having as much fun as possible. Charm City Cakes opened in 2000, when Chef Duff decided to move back to Baltimore and friends began to spread the word of his unusal creations. It has now grown to include a full staff and an upcoming reality show on the Food Network.
Charm City Cakes is not open to the general public. For information on how to make an appointment, call 410-235-9229.

The Internet Explorers
Rock Band
What do the Internet Explorers sound like? As they describe it, "Circus monkey sideshow from the blue light district intended to mean some hair flippin', pelvic thrustin', shelf life lastin', salad tossin', toothy flossin', b***h boy breakdown beats with mad eyeshadow and some loose goose p*****s followin' YOU like the paparazzi flowin' lava showin' at a theatre near you!!!" Whatever that means, vocalist Josh Schleupner, Alex Hewitt, Mac Briscoe and Ben Korman are here to share it with the Artworks audience.

Voices of Refuge
Creative Alliance Celebrates World Refugee Day
On June 15th, Creative Alliance celebrates World Refugee Day by hosting Voices of Refuge, a program that allows emigrates from all over the globe to share their struggles and their lives through the arts. Luisa Bieri De Rios, the program's coordinator, speaks of the importance of this outlet and the Por la Avenida art series and how it provides a means for artists in many different genres to tell their stories.
