The "Eyre Apparent"
George Peabody Library Exhibition
The "Eyre Apparent" exhibition celebrates the enduring popularity of Charlotte Bronte's most famous novel, Jane Eyre. It was the favorite read of Victorian society (including Queen Victoria herself), a staple of school curriculum and a cornerstone of English literature. This exhibit devotes its time to showing the many incarnations of Jane Eyre. "From series books to comic books, from dolls to playing cards, the objects displayed reveal how shifting cultural contexts have affected and continue to shape the book's meaning."
The exhibit is on display at the George Peabody Library until October 31. Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm; Saturday, 9am - 3pm; Sunday, 12pm -5pm. For more information, please call 410-659-8179.

Rhea and friends visit the BMA
Baltimore Museum of Art, Contemporary Wing
Recently Rhea and a few of her little friends, TJ, Thomas and Miya, visited the Baltimore Museum of Art's Contemporary Wing. The kids shared their fresh and art-filled views on pieces by Henry Moore and Andy Warhol and gave Rhea a whole new perspective on what they were seeing. You may get an idea from this for a possible art visit to your favorite museum with your favorite little art critics. (Many thanks to the Baltimore Museum of Art for their gracious hospitality.)

Tana Hicken and Pamela Payton-Wright
Arsenic and Old Lace, Center Stage Theatre
Arsenic and Old Lace, the classic comedy by Joseph Kesselring, is the current offering at Center Stage under the direction of Irene Lewis. We all know the beloved film starring Cary Grant and this is a rare opportunity to sit in a theatre and enjoy the hilarity of this masterfully written play in a live performance. The sweetly eccentric Brewster sisters, who have a deadly touch with elderberry wine, are played by Tana Hicken and Pamela Payton-Wright and they join Rhea to talk about the play and the "delicious" fun they are having with their roles. Arsenic and Old Lace runs at Center Stage's Pearlstone Theatre through October 14.
