Reflections: 2008 Members' Show Frederick County Art Association
This Week's Salon Artist
Our salon art this week is from the artists of the Frederick County Art Association, the largest group of active artists in the Frederick area. Their 2008 members' show is entitled "Reflections" and it is a fitting name for the beginning of a new year. Artists from Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia have used several forms of media to convey their ideas of reflection. The images that are illustrated in this exhibition cover varying themes including scenes that touch upon life, nature and even dreams. The show is judged by Michael Piechocinski, teacher of Advanced Portfolio Development at the Visual Art Center in Kensington, Maryland.
But the public also gets the chance to vote for their favorite piece in this year's People's Choice Award. Reflections runs January 5 through 27 at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, 40 South Carroll Street, Frederick, MD. The exhibition is showing in the Kline and F&M Galleries. Open daily, Mon.-Fri., 9-5pm, and Sun., 1-4pm. For more information, call the Delaplaine Center at 301-686-0656.

ArtChat
with Nate and Rhea
On ArtChat This Week, Nate and Rhea discuss the final season of the highly acclaimed Baltimore drama The Wire. The writers' strike in Hollywood put the kabosh on the Golden Globe Awards, but other awards are still recognizing the accomplishments of some very familiar people and productions. We'll talk about the recent accolades for HairSpray and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
ArtWorks This Week is made possible by the members of MPT. Thank you for your generous support!
