First Impressions with Rhea Feikin
John Waters
(Airs at 7:00 pm)
First Impressions host Rhea Feiken sits down for a candid and sometimes twisted conversation with friend and self-confessed Baltimore bad boy John Waters. Waters recounts his cinematic rise to shame and delivers his patented brand of pop philosophy, laced with schizophrenic memories, demented revelations and humorous observations on human behavior. The Waters' frenzied legacy continues when Impressions is followed by the ArtsWorks special on Cry Baby, the latest John Waters' film-turned-Broadway play.
An ArtWorks This Week Special
The Premier of John Waters'
"Cry-Baby: The Musical" on Broadway!
He's done it again! John Waters takes the world on a tour of 1954 Baltimore, when the teenage world was ruled by the "Drapes",aka 'greasers' or 'hoods, and the "Squares"! "Cry-Baby: The Musical", based on Waters' 1990 film, opened on Broadway last week, and ArtWorks was there, talking to the cast and creatives (and of course, John!). "Cry-Baby: The Musical" is at the Marquis Theater at Broadway and 46th Street in New York, and runs through Sept. 14th.
