Volunteer-a-thon

Volunteer through MPT to Help the Bay!

Maryland Public Television is now host to the largest environmental Volunteer-a-thon on the east coast!

JOIN US in raising 10,000+ volunteer hours to assist the many nonprofits that service and protect the Chesapeake Bay.

We have opportunities for helping a broad range of environmental groups, ranging from on-site work such as planting grass to answering phones and helping with mailings.

To pledge your hours for an organization from the list in the right column, please call 410-581-4035, e-mail volunteer@mpt.org, or print and return this form (.pdf).

The Volunteer-a-thon is brought to you in part with support from:

Bank of America

MPT makes it easy to help the bay with its fourth annual Chesapeake Bay Week Volunteer-a-thon, airing live Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 6 p.m. Baltimore's Living Classrooms Foundation is one of the many organizations you can donate volunteer hours to this year. Learn about Living Classrooms (right column) and see how you can help them!

Check out what students at Ruxton Country School in Owings Mills, Maryland, are doing to help the watershed region! Students, their families and staff have already donated 5,000 hours to MPT's third annual Chesapeake Bay Week Volunteer-a-thon!

Bay Week Volunteers

Volunteers from the Antietem Watershed also participated in the Mummers Parade to encourage others to volunteer.

Bay Week Volunteers

Students from Linton Elementary School sow seeds for environmentally friendly plantings.

Bay Week Volunteers

The Linton students hold the rewards of their efforts.
