Origins of Domo mascot explained in new videos from NHK World TV
Domo -- the mascot for Japan's NHK World TV channel -- is an adorable yet strange brown creature that hatched from an egg and whose name originated from the greeting "Domo." What began as a character created by NHK to help bridge the generation gap has since evolved into a viral superstar, attracting over 13 million Facebook fans globally and over 10 million views on YouTube.
A new series of videos (see broadcast schedule below) will reveal Domo’s origins, and fans will get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the diverse, complex, and yet united world where about 80 Domos live together in a village in close proximity to dinosaurs and other creatures.
