A Bridge to Reading, What Families Need to Know is a half-hour look at what some parents are doing to help their children start or continue on the road to reading. As you watch the video, you will see all kinds of families in all kinds of situations. You'll see what they do to help their children learn about language and reading. And you'll learn how much this means to them.

As you watch these families, you will:

  • Learn how every day events-like going to the grocery store-can be turned into "reading" moments.

  • Find out why experts say families are important to their children's reading success.

  • See how little things can make a big difference as your children learn how to read.
