    But you still have more work to do. Continue reading together. Perhaps you can take turns reading aloud, or read the words a different character says.

    Remember to be patient with your child. They are just beginning to be expert readers. Everyone makes mistakes. Don't dwell on the problems. Just reward their good work.

    Explore different kinds of books together. If you've always read storybooks, take a look at wordless books, and make up the story yourselves. Think about reading nonfiction books if you've always read fiction. The variety will help keep your child interested in reading.
