MPT’s before- and after-school service for children ages 6-12.

We all know that a child's learning doesn't stop with school. The things kids do outside of school hours also influence them-and not always for the better.

Maryland Public Television's Ready to Grow service is trying to change that. How? By helping to fill the hours before and after school with fun, educational activities that encourage children to see learning as an adventure. Children get to do the kinds of things they love –like watching television, making snacks, creating art and music, or running around. But at the same time, they're learning about science, math, social skills, language arts, and the media.

We at Ready to Grow also know that families are their children's first and best teachers. That's why we've provided a special set of resources for you here –so you, too, can help your child get ready to grow.
