2009 Mercedes-Benz CL550
5.5-liter V8
382-horsepower
Starting around a cool $105,000
The Mercedes-Benz CL550 coupe is also making waves, thanks to the addition of all-wheel-drive as standard fitment for 2009.

The latest 4MATIC system, which debuted on the S-Class sedan, adds only 154 pounds to the CL550 4MATIC. This means less impact on fuel economy and performance than earlier systems.

The 4Matic transfer case with a twin-clutch differential is integrated into the 7-speed automatic transmission with a nominal 45% front/55% rear torque split.

Four-wheel electronic traction control helps ensure forward movement even if only one wheel has grip. That movement comes from the familiar 5.5-liter V8 rated at 382 horsepower.

The CL550 also boast state-of-the-art safety features including PRESAFE, which when triggered by the DISTRONIC PLUS cruise control radar, automatically applies brakes and prepares restraints for a potential crash.

The Mercedes-Benz CL550 4Matic is on sale now, with prices starting around a cool $105,000.
