When the light duty Dodge Ram 1500 was redesigned for 2009, the focus was on making the optimum "personal use" pickup. So, smooth riding rear coil springs replaced traditional leafs, and conveniences like the Ram Box cargo bed replaced sheer capacity as noteworthy.
But Dodge did not abandon its faithful that still needs a truck that can really haul. Enter the all-new 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500, complete with carry-hearty leaf springs and big towing-over 17,000 pounds without going Dually.
Back too is the Cummins 6.7-liter Turbodiesel inline-6. Standard in the 3500, you can tell the Ram Cummins by an even larger grille than its 5.7-liter Hemi V8 gas counterpart.
The Ram Power Wagon off-road special also returns, with front and rear electronic locking diffs, Bilstein shocks, and a 12,000-pound winch.
Nearly half of all pickups sold are crew cabs, and up until now, Dodge didn't have one in its Heavy Duty lineup. For 2010, it does-the Crew Cab replaces the Quad Cab, and slots between Regular and Mega Cab to cover all user bases.
The Ram HD line also gets a handsome redesigned interior, similar to the 1500, with great seats and amenities aplenty, including Bluetooth.

And even with more features, it costs two grand less than last year. Ram 2500 starts under $22,000, and they're in dealerships now.
