Maryland's own Chef Bryan Voltaggio's celebrity status skyrocketed when he became a finalist on Top Chef. But that didn't change Voltaggio's style or mission at Volt, the three-star restaurant in Frederick where he's both partner and Executive Chef.

Obsessed with Everything Food: A Living Magazine," is the title for a new half-hour MPT special featuring Chef Voltaggio performing his cooking magic at Volt and escorting us to some of his favorite culinary spots throughout Maryland. In a word, the Chef is obsessed.
Savor the moment as Chef Voltaggio creates his spectacular "Chesapeake Bay Crab Summer Roll" with Yuzu vinaigrette – rolled in a delicate made-from-scratch rice paper.
After uncovering a few of the Chef's secrets we visit a local farm; steam Maryland crabs; and stop in to Flying Dog, Frederick's own wildly successful micro-brewery, to explore the art of making craft beer.
Next we head back to the kitchen where Chef roasts up some melt-in-your-mouth baby carrots with garlic, ginger, and cardamom.
Then it's on to an authentic taste of back-roads Maryland for a simple dessert - the snoball - an icy concoction of homemade syrups poured over shaved ice.
"Obsessed with Everything Food" premieres exclusively on Maryland Public Television on February 7, 2012 at 8:00pm. A co-production of Cravequest Productions and Maryland Public Television, the special is envisioned as a pilot for a series that will follow Chef Voltaggio across America in search of discovering everything food.
In the words of Chef Voltaggio: "I'm still, and always, Obsessed with Everything Food."
