Owings Mills, MD— Students from Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, Maryland, are traveling to the nation’s capital this week to participate in a Civil Rights Movement educational program that includes an afternoon event at the White House on Wednesday, February 9. In conjunction with the PBS music special In Performance at the White House “A Celebration of the Civil Rights Movement,” First Lady Michelle Obama will host “Music that Inspired the Movement,” a workshop for 120 high school students from around the country that will examine the music from the Civil Rights Movement and its continuing relevance in American culture.
