Following its recent meeting in Chicago, the Affinity Group Coalition (AGC) has announced Robert Shuman, president and CEO of Maryland Public Television, as its newly elected chair. The national group is a coalition representing all public television stations with a mission to address system-wide issues of critical interest to public television stations nationwide.

Governor Martin O’Malley has appointed Washington County Public Schools Superintendent Elizabeth Morgan to the Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission. Established in 1966, the Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission—a governor-appointed, 11-member body—oversees the critical infrastructure necessary for delivery of programming on MPT and helps guide the broadcaster’s strategic vision.
