It is hard enough for some families to rebound, but there are still others who never seem to get off the ground at all. Maryland Public Television (MPT) and the Department of Human Resources (DHR) have been working together since 2002 to bring to light a variety of services that are available to Maryland citizens to help improve the quality of their lives. With Revitalize, Reenter and Rebound as the impetus, MPT is once again bringing its series - Hardworking Families - to the forefront of this Annie E. Casey umbrella effort. These Hard Working Families programs, which will be broadcast on MPT's six-station network, will explain how citizens can qualify for and access these services ranging from adoption to energy assistance to programs for the elderly. Each half-hour program has an overall theme and features at least three video packages consisting of personal stories from individuals who have used or are using services related to that theme.
