John T. Potthast
Executive Producer
John T. Potthast, vice president of national productions for MPT, has served as executive producer for "Dessert Circus with Jacques Torres," "Pierre Franey's Cooking in France," and "Pierre Franey's Cooking in Europe," among others. His many credits for MPT include "Baking With Julia," "In Julia's Kitchen with Master Chefs," "Julia Child's Cooking with Master Chefs," "Lynn Fischer's Healthy Indulgences" and "Country Inn Cooking with Gail Greco."
As vice president of national productions, Potthast's credits include "Boatworks," "HealthWeek," 'In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great," "Wimzie's House," "Into the Rising Sun" and "A Woman's Place."
Potthast also produced "The New Europeans," a 1992 documentary series, "Passover: Traditions of Freedom," and the annual "National Geography Bee." For four seasons, he served as producer of the award-winning series "On Stage at Wolf Trap," and has also produced several programs for "Great Performances. " He was also senior producer and writer for MPT's "Happy New Year U.S.A.," a live New Year's Eve Party on PBS.
Potthast's many recognitions and awards include three national Emmys and three James Beard Foundation awards. In addition, he has been honored by the Ohio State University, Chicago, New York, Birmingham, Charleston, Columbus, Houston, Jackson Hole, Miami and 11. S. International Film Festivals.
