Potthast has numerous other projects for MPT to his credit, including THE NEW EUROPEANS, a documentary series that aired in the fall of 1992, PASSOVER: TRADITIONS OF FREEDOM, and the annual NATIONAL GEOGRAPHY BEE. For four seasons, he served as producer of the award-winning series ON STAGE AT WOLF TRAP, and has produced several programs for GREAT PERFORMANCES. He served as senior producer and writer of MPT's HAPPY NEW YEAR U.S.A., PBS' live New Year's Eve Party.
Potthast has received many awards, including two Emmys, one for IN JULIA'S KITCHEN WITH MASTER CHEFS and the other for WOLF TRAP PRESENTS THE KIROV: SWAN LAKE . He has also received two James Beard Foundation awards, one for IN JULIA'S KITCHEN WITH MASTER CHEFS and the other for PIERRE FRANEY'S COOKING IN FRANCE. In addition, Potthast has received awards from Ohio State University and the Chicago, New York, Birmingham, Columbus, Houston, Jackson Hole, Miami and U.S. International Film Festivals.
