Expansion of Flu Shot Vaccine to More Children
An advisory panel recently recommended to the CDC, that all children except those under 6 months old get flu shots. That means about 30 million more children could be getting vaccinated. If heeded, it would be one of the largest expansions in flu vaccination coverage in U.S. history. The flu vaccine has been available since the 1940s. There has been a fair amount of controversy over exactly when children should be given the flu shot and its effectiveness.
