Public TV Action Center

Welcome to the public television Action Center!

Through this electronic Action Center, Maryland Public Television collaborates with the Association of Public Television Stations (APTS), a DC-based advocacy organization that works on behalf of the public television industry.

We're making the Action Center available as a tool to help viewers who wish to do so -- participate in the discussion or resolution of issues facing public television.

Here's how it works:

From time to time, APTS will issue a "call to action" to you and to us to rally support and get us engaged around issues in which we've an interest.

For example, APTS may notify us that federal policymakers are considering legislation dealing with early childhood literacy or technology-based education or digital television or dozens of other topics. Through the Action Center, you'll be invited to make your views as a citizen known to persons or agencies that make these policies.

Please note that at all times, your participation is totally up to you. Only after you register will you receive periodic emails that call upon you to communicate your views to an elected official or other policymaker. And you can drop out at any time, of course.
