Minimum Wage
The recent Minimum Wage bill passed in the 2005 session would raise Maryland's minimum wage above the national figure. What will be the effect on low wage employees, businesses and job creation? Lawmakers in Annapolis failed to override Governor Ehrlich's veto of a living-wage bill that would have required state contractors to pay workers $10.50 an hour.
