Battle Over the Swans
There has been a battle in Maryland over the exotic Mute Swans. The Mute Swans are not native to this area and according to the DNR and other organizations including The Audubon Society and Chesapeake Bay Foundation the birds are harmful to the eco-system. The DNR plan is to control the population. Opponents say there are other options available instead of killing the birds and believe the data is flawed.
