Debate to Add Bay's Native Oyster to Endangered List
As the debate of the introduction of the Asian-Oyster into the Chesapeake Bay continues, a Maryland environmental consultant has begun the process of getting the Bay's native oyster on the federal endangered species list. State Circle examines the impact a move such as this would have on the Bay's health, the oyster population, and the people who make their living from the oysters.
