Senator Rob Garagiola and Delegate Dr. Dan Morhaim have both been extremely active in health issues in state government. We'll get an update on the state's efforts to address insurance and other health care issues which are being studied by a special subcommittee. The committee met for the first time earlier this week.

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown Discusses BRAC Decisions
After the first BRAC sub-cabinet meeting, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown joins Jeff to talk about the State's need to accommodate the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) decisions that will bring more than 45,000 new jobs to Maryland by 2011. Governor O'Malley directed the Lt. Governor to chair the Subcabinet on BRAC for the State of Maryland.

A Tribute to Former Congressman Parren J. Mitchell
Former Congressman Parren J. Mitchell died on Memorial Day. He was an icon and a maverick in Maryland politics. State Circle's Charles Robinson looks at his life, and those he influenced.
Parren J. Mitchell was Maryland’s first African-American elected to congress. He served from 1970-1987. He was 85 years old when he died on Memorial Day.

Pratt Library's New Branch in Highlandtown
Carla Hayden joins us from Pratt library's first new branch in 35 years. Located in Highlandtown, the branch offers an 80,000 volume collection, internet and Wi-Fi Access on over 60 computers, and a gourmet cafe.
