Mozambique

Ian Wright travels to one of the world's poorest nations, a country wiped off the tourist trail for 20 years by war but now on the rise again. He starts his journey in its capital Maputo, where he meets artists working to heal the wounds of war, views its colonial relics, lives it up in one of Africa's most luxurious hotels, and shops at a local market for a real taste of Africa. In Chimoio, Ian discovers how the central region of the country is dealing with the terrible landmine legacy of its civil war. From here, he crosses the mighty Zambezi River and continues his journey to Quelimane, where he stops at Africa's biggest coconut plantation before learning about how locals are dealing with the lethal spread of AIDS in Mocuba. Ian then travels to the first European settlement in East Africa, magical Mozambique Island, which was built as a replica of Lisbon in Portugal. Finally, he travels to the village of Mueba, famous for a massacre of its people by the Portuguese in 1960.

Zay visits western Canada, a vast landmass that is home to a mere 9 million people. He starts in Saskatchewan, where he canoes through the Prince Albert National Park, takes a train across the Great Plains to Saskatoon, then flies to Edmonton in Alberta. Here he checks out the province's biggest tourist attraction: the West Edmonton Mall, which is the size of New York's Central Park! Instead of shopping, Zay goes bungee jumping, swims and walks with the penguins. He hitches a ride to Calgary for the world's greatest outdoor event: the Calgary Stampede, and then heads to Lake Louise, known as the "Jewel of the Rockies," where he takes place in a grizzly bear study in Jasper National Park. Zay daytrips to Whistler, a world-renowned ski resort, where he goes ziptrekking, a unique way of seeing Whistler's old forest. His last leg takes him to the beautiful but isolated province of Yukon, where he rides the rapids on the Tatshenshini River.

East Africa: Tanzania & Zanzibar

In Panama City, Megan tries different Panama hats, which she learns are really from Ecuador but were misnamed as far back as the1850s when Americans were building the railroad during the Gold Rush. She visits the Panama Canal, the crucial byway that generates $1 billion a year for the Panamanian economy. In Colombia, Megan finds herself witness to a point-blank shooting. Undeterred, she decides to learn more about the country's crime-ridden history. She stops by Bogota's police museum to see an exhibition of the infamous drug dealer Pablo Escobar, and then visits the Caribbean coast and the beautiful historic city of Cartagena, where she learns about the city's Spanish colonial past and listens to some of Colombia's most popular rhythms, Vallenato.

He then heads south to Lalibela for Timkat, the most important festival in the country. Ian travels to Bahar Dar, visiting the spectacular Blue Nile Falls and sampling the delicious local cuisine. He journeys to the capital Addis Ababa where he drinks coffee with the locals, goes bargain hunting in the largest outdoor market in Africa and is pampered in a hydrotherapy center. His trip ends in the southern town of Arba Minch, taking part in the macho ritual of cow jumping and engaging in a stick fight with the Mursi, one of Africa's fiercest tribes.

On a motorbike, he follows the Route of 1000 Kasbahs, an ancient caravan trail that runs out to the desert. He encounters a sandstorm while on a two-day camel trek and later attempts a climb up Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa.
