Rwanda - In Search of Chimpanzees

Joseph continues his Rwanda adventure and turns his attention to the region's other primate populations. Chimpanzee, Olive Baboons, Mona, Blue and Black and White Colobus Monkeys are just a few of the thirteen primate species that populate the Nyungwe National Park. The rest of the area's flora and fauna is equally impressive with more than 140 orchid species and 275 bird species, dozens of them found only in the highlands of Central Africa. In addition to the wildlife wonders, Joseph has personal encounters in the local Banda (thatched-hut) communities and meets the reclusive and vanishing Batwa people. In Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, Joseph highlights the 1994 Rwanda genocide and the efforts that the country has made to overcome its past at the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre.

Of the 14 aboriginal groups that exist on Taiwan the Tao people live on Orchid Island while the Ami people were the original inhabitants of Green Island. Switzerland - Scaling The Jungfrau Region

Joseph travels into the Grindelwald Valley to experience the grandeur of Switzerland's most typically-Swiss region - the Jungfrau. Constantly shadowed by the towering heights of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau peaks, all above 12, 000 feet, Joseph partakes of Swiss mountain culture at local street fairs and festivals. He gets to take part in a cheese-making demonstration and run with the goats through the streets of Wengen, a car-free mountain town. To get an up-close experience with the peaks he hikes to the Gleckstein, a mountain hut for climbers, and literally tops off his adventure with a train journey to the highest train station in Europe, the Jungfraujoch.

South Africa - On Safari!

Joseph gets an elephant-sized helping of the African wild on safari at the Lion Sands Private Game Reserve adjacent to South Africa's famed Kruger National Park. Using the elegant Lion Sands accommodations as his home base he heads out in search of the Big Five and encounters lions, African elephants, Cape Buffalos and Black Rhinoceros. He rounds out his wildlife tour at Camp Jabulani when he literally rubs shoulders with two Cheetahs at the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre then joins other camp guests atop a team of rescued elephants on safari through the African bush. As an important complement to the animal adventures, he visits the local villages and schools in order to understand more about the native culture and discover how they coexist with and benefit from tourism.
