Episode # 175

Section D are forced to take an FSB officer, Viktor Barenshik, onto the Grid to track down Aibek, a rogue nationalist from Azakstan, who is looking for a nerve agent known as Paroxocybin. While following Aibek across London, it is revealed one of the original scientists of the agent before its destruction kept a sample. It is also revealed Viktor wants to take the agent to the Russians in order to justify their invasion of Azakstan. When Section D discover this, they give Aibek a deal to blackmail Viktor. Beth later kills him, and Tariq forges the video as if it was Aibek that had done and got away from the building. Meanwhile, Vaughn approaches Lucas asking him for an MI5 file named "Albany."

Episode # 176

A trio of highly skilled Chinese agents arrive in the UK to kidnap and assassinate Dr. Jiang, a scientist developing revolutionary desalination technology. Kai, an asset from the Chinese embassy, informs them of a bomb in the same building Jiang is working in, but it is later revealed to be a set-up to kidnap Jiang. After finding her, the head of Chinese intelligence informs Harry that if they do not hand in Jiang back to the Chinese, they will detonate a bomb. Dimitri finds the bomb and disarms it, and Jiang is transferred to the CIA. Lucas delivers the Albany file to Vaughn; believing he is free from him, he and Maya restart their relationship. Although reported to have left the UK, the Chinese agents reveal that their mission is in fact to track Lucas for undisclosed reasons.

Episode # 177

While Beth and Dimitri go undercover during the US President's visit to chair top secret peace talks between Israel and Palestine, a plot to assassinate him is uncovered. Believing it is the work of Lebanese militant Muatt Hutri, the section are able to arrest him, but he convinces them he is in London to stop it. It is revealed the actual assassin, Baltasar Jad is attempting to perform an impossible shot from a building a mile and a half away to take out the president. He captures Beth, butshe is able to escape after he leaves. Lucas arrives and kills Jad, but it is later discovered the sniper is a diversion. The actual assassin is Israeli Anna Cohen, who plans to blow herself up with the president as revenge for her father deserting her when she was once captured by Palestinians. Her father and Dimitri are able to talk her out of doing it. In the end, Lucas realises Vaughn has no intention of leaving him alone.

Episode # 178

After an American drone is hacked in Afghanistan, Head of CIA London Alton Beecher (Colin Salmon) pressures the Grid into installing the new advanced "cybershell" system. Lucas, who is pressed by Vaughn into finding the Albany file, is tasked with transporting Daniella Ortiz (Fiona Glascott), who has the codes. However, Tariq discovers the Grid is bugged by a coalition of Russian and Chinese agents, who plan on sabotaging cybershell. Lucas makes a detour to Malcolm's home to get his hands on Albany. After the hackers lock down the Grid, Harry and the others have no way to contact Lucas; the hackers, using Harry's voice, orders Lucas to assassinate Daniella, though he later realises it is faked. The two are ambushed, though Lucas kills the attackers. Daniella is shot during the attack and Lucas lets her die in order to keep Albany a secret. The hackers are later found and apprehended. In the end, Vaughn tells Lucas the Albany file is fake; Lucas returns to Malcolm's home, only to find the house cleaned out.

Episode # 179

Ruth looks into a suspected dead drop witnessed by Council member Deery, but soon, they are both kidnapped by a French assassin targeting a Mafia boss. Ruth is able to break free and together, Deery and Ruth kill the assassin. Meanwhile, to force Lucas' hand, Vaughn kidnaps Maya in order for him to get the Albany file. Harry, having revisited the bombing of the British Embassy in Dakar in 1995, realises Lucas is involved. When he is apprehended, Lucas reveals he is actually John Bateman, who unknowlingly sent the bomb to the Embassy, killing 17 people. Vaughn later killed the real Lucas North and John took his identity. He convinces Harry to release him and rescue Maya. Having been stabbed by Lucas earlier, before he dies, Vaughn convinces Lucas that it was he who bombed the Embassy and murdered the real Lucas. In the end, believing Harry may not cut a deal, Lucas intends to flee.

Episode # 180

Harry leads a manhunt to find and capture Lucas, and hires a specialist, Alec White (Vincent Regan). After making a deal with Chinese agents, Lucas kidnaps Ruth after diverting the agent's attention and threatens to kill her unless Harry gives him Albany, which is revealed to be a blueprint of a genetic weapon. Harry gives into the demand, but by doing so, the team find Maya and tells her Lucas' past actions. By doing so, Maya turns against him. The two escape from Beth and Demitri, but Maya is killed in the process. After handing the Chinese Albany, Lucas threatens to destroy a train station unless he sees Harry alone. Though the bomb is revealed to be a fake, Harry sees him, knowing Lucas intends to kill him for revenge. There, on the roof of a tower, Harry reveals that Albany never worked. Lucas realises now that he has nothing to live for, points a gun at Harry and tells him to turn around. Awaiting his certain murder, Harry encourages Lucas to shoot him quickly, but hears a commotion at the base of the building, and turns round to find no-one. The episode ends with the Home Secretary, William Towers (Simon Russell Beale) revealing to Harry that because he gave away a state secret in Albany, he may lose his career.

Episode # 181

Two months following the death of Lucas North, and after trading Albany, a state secret, for Ruth Evershed (Nicola Walker), Sir Harry Pearce (Peter Firth) is on garden leave until a tribunal can determine his future with MI5. With help from Home Secretary William Towers (Simon Russell Beale), Harry returns to work on a provisional basis until the tribunal's conclusion. Harry learns that old friend Max Witt (Giles Havergal) was murdered. His Russian opposite, Ilya Gavrik (Jonathan Hyde), is smuggled into the country by Towers, who reveals Gavrik is proposing a partnership between Russia and the United Kingdom without the Americans knowing. It has emerged that Witt was killed because he knew somebody is posing as Harry using his old coded messages from the Cold War; the imposter made contact with Elena (Alice Krige), Gavrik's wife, and Harry's former asset. Section D learns of a kill order by the Chechens on Gavrik during a function. Harry intercepts the assassin, who flees and then killed by new Section D Chief Erin Watts (Lara Pulver). Despite this, the assassin's handlers deem the mission a success. Harry meets with Elena, and tells her they should meet again at a safe location. Later, Harry reveals to Ruth that he and Elena were lovers, and that FSB officer Sasha Gavrik (Tom Weston-Jones) is their son.

Episode # 182

On his way to MI6, Calum Reed (Geoffrey Streatfeild) is mugged, and his laptop containing the identities of five high level assets is stolen, one of which is Martha Ford (Lydia Leonard), who is close to one of Gavrik's companies. Several attempts to find the muggers prove difficult as they are highly resourceful. They manage to decrypt the first file and leak it to the Internet; asset one John Grogen is found dead. Martha's identity is leaked next, though Erin is able to bring her to a safe house before she can be killed by the Russians. However, Erin is later ordered to break all ties with her under the pressure from Gavrik. Harry meets with Elena to tell her that somebody is posing as him. He later asks Ruth to look up Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) deputy director and Cold War colleague Jim Coaver (William Hope), believing he is the imposter. After returning home Tariq Masood (Shazad Latif) discovers the identity of one of the muggers. However, he realises they are on to him, and tries to get the intel to Thames House. Before he can get there though, a man poisons him by injection, and dies as he arrives to meet Calum.

Episode # 183

Trace amounts of radioactive material has been found at Heathrow Airport. Section D find that known anarchist Johnny Grier (Mel Raido) is in the city, who is believed to be making a dirty bomb in London. To get to him, Dimitri Levendis (Max Brown) is assigned to honeytrap his sister, Natalie (Georgina Rich), via Internet dating. Section D follows him to a cell, who plans to attack the Velanon Group, a financial company who made millions from a nuclear disaster. When Dimitri confronts him, Grier reveals he thought he was smuggling heroin to the country, and is not part of the bomb plot. Reluctantly he agrees to help; they find a van, only to find it empty; Grier double crossed them. He intends to assassinate Velanon's CEO using the radioactive powder. Dimitri fails to stop him, and the building is evacuated. Meanwhile, Towers offers Ruth a promotion to his security advisor, leaving the Grid and MI5. Harry's suspicion into Coaver has been solidified, especially after Calum found what Tariq found before his death; one of the muggers was also present during Gavrik's assassination attempt. Furthermore she is a deniable CIA asset.

Episode # 184

When the parole of Zubier Al-Saad (Jeffery Kissoon), an Islamic extremist leader is turned down, he appoints two recently released inmates to commit a revenge suicide mission. One of those released, Ashur Mohali (Asif Khan), is an asset from the prison who passed on information to Section D. He agrees to help Erin stop the upcoming attack on the condition that his daughter be given British citizenship. However, his handlers decide to kidnap her to ensure the attack succeeds; Ashur is now committed to the cause for his daughter's safety. Section D later learns that the attack will take place on Trafalgar Square. When Erin confronts him, she learns the handlers also has her daughter, Rosie. If the attack fails, she will die; Dimitri is able to kill the handler as Ashur is killed by CO19. Meanwhile, Harry must find incontrovertible proof against Coaver. He and Ruth use Elena and Sasha as bait to get to Coaver, but find the mysterious woman instead. Later, Ruth tells Harry about the offer from Towers; he encourages her to leave Section D, as he does not want her involved in what he is about to do. When Ruth finds the proof, Harry warns Coaver he is coming after him.

Episode # 185

Harry, Erin and Dimitri kidnap Coaver. During an interrogation, he insists he did not pose as Harry, nor order the attack on Elena. By pressuring the Home Secretary, the Americans learn of Coaver's location, and a CIA team arrives to collect him, but after they depart another CIA team arrives; realising the first team were imposters, the MI5 agents give chase. The imposters throw a beaten Coaver from their vehicle, and a dying Coaver tells Harry that his laptop contains the answers he seeks. Arriving after Coaver's death, the CIA team blame Harry. Harry later meets with Elena, confiding that he now believes her husband to be the mole. When Gavrik visits Harry later, he reveals he always knew Harry ran Elena, but has no interest in killing his wife. Harry convinces Ruth to steal Coaver's laptop from the United States Embassy, but she is intercepted by Sasha before she can give it to Harry, and Sasha learns from it that Harry is his biological father. Meanwhile, Section D believe that the fake CIA agents are part of a mercenary group with ties to Gavrik (the ring leader was once his personal bodyguard). The mercenaries detonate a car bomb, injuring Towers. The next day, the CIA demands Harry's extradition, and Towers agrees, handing Harry over into their custody.
