It's a Dazzling, Star-Studded Musical Tribute to America's Heroes
This year's Veteran's Day concert continues a tradition of saluting our men and women in uniform with a musical tribute. The program will honor each branch of the military and will feature major talent along with short vignettes of veterans to reflect the rich history and experience of our nation's armed forces.
Headlining the entertainment for 2010 includes host Blair Underwood, along with musical performances by Grammy Award winner and singer/songwriter Peter Cetera, country music band Lonestar, and former American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle. It's a lineup that's sure to draw solid audiences. The musical program will also feature a mixture of classic favorites from the Air Force Band and orchestra, along with the Singing Sergeants. There will be rousing patriotic favorites and contemporary hits that the public loves.
Past programs have included four-time Grammy-nominee Michael Feinstein, Irish tenor Ronan Tynan, blues dynamo Shemekia Copeland, Academy Award-winning host Lou Gossett, Jr., as well as two-time Grammy-winner Patti LaBelle and country music star Clint Black.
America's Veterans: A Musical Tribute is becoming a perennial favorite and enriches the Veterans Day experience for our national audience. It's an exciting concert that promotes a greater level of appreciation and understanding by the public of the role and purpose of our men and women in uniform.
