Maryland Public Television, National Productions Presents Original TV and Online Video Content to Rate Digital Tools

Daily Download is a series of video reviews that help consumers determine which websites and online tools for covering news and public affairs are effective and credible. Maryland Public Television provides editorial oversight for this project that offers interstitials for public television station use. The video reviews gauge the performance of digital media news in order to increase digital and media literacy among news consumers and media professionals.

Several times each year, MPT feeds a series of 60 second segments to public television stations which can be used as program fillers or interstitials in or around your regular programming. These reviews are hosted by Howard Kurtz, Washington bureau chief for Newsweek and Daily Beast, and by Lauren Ashburn, president of Ashburn Media and former managing editor for USA Today and Gannett Broadcasting. The reviews are funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation on the part of Maryland Public Television (MPT) and its production partner Ashburn Media Company (AMC).
