Irish Coffee
Chef Joe Sheridan, of Foyne's Restaurant in County Clare, is credited with inventing Irish Coffee in the 1940s. We hear the original version was made with Irish Mist liqueur, although Irish Whiskey is more commonly used today. Why not try it both ways and do your own taste test?
Original Version
- 1 cup hot coffee
- 1 ½ oz. Irish Mist Liqueur
- Whipped cream for garnish
Modern Version
- 1 cup hot coffee
- 1 oz. Irish Whiskey
- 3 sugar cubes
- Whipped cream for garnish
