WHAT TO BRING:
You may bring up to 3 items for evaluation. Your antiques will receive an expert oral evaluation (sorry, no written appraisals). Evaluations are for entertainment purposes only. You may bring one companion along to the event to help you carry items. However, your companion may not bring any additional items for evaluation.

ITEM RESTRICTIONS:
Collectibles cannot exceed 50 pounds and must be easy for you to carry by hand. For liability reasons, the staff is not able to assist with your items. Do not leave any items unattended. Our appraisers will not evaluate coins, currency, stamps, vehicles, explosives, firearms manufactured after 1900, or glass fire extinguishers. Items containing hazardous materials are not allowed.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE:
When you arrive at Turf Valley, signs and traffic staff will direct you to the appropriate parking area. You may park and carry your items inside. If you have a bulky item, you may drop off one member of your party in the driveway loop at the Chesapeake Collectibles entrance.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Follow the signs and staff instruction to Registration Hall where a Chesapeake Collectibles staff member will greet you and guide you through the process. Check in at a Registration Table to receive a Category Pass for each of your items. Take a seat in the waiting area and enjoy a live video stream of the studio action until it is your turn to meet with the experts!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Will I be on TV?
A: Perhaps! Our appraisers work with our production team to select the most interesting, unique and/or valuable collectibles. If one of your items is selected for the show, our staff may escort you to be lightly made-up for your appearance with the appraiser.

Q: Does my companion need to be registered?
A: No. Registered attendees may bring one companion to help carry items. Your companion does not need to be registered, and you do not need to submit their name. However, companions cannot bring additional items. Each team of collector & companion can bring 3 items total.

Q: Can someone bring collectibles to the filming event without registering in advance?
A: No. To provide you the most secure and efficient experience, we require all attendees to register in advance. Attendees may bring one companion to help carry items, but companions cannot bring their additional items.

Register here or call 1-800-222-1292 to find out how to register.

Q: Does it really matter what day or time I bring my collectibles to Turf Valley during the event weekend?
A: Yes! Over 1,000 people attend the taping over the two days of the event. Scheduled timeframes enable us to provide a safe, fun, and efficient experience for everyone. Please come on the day and at any time during the time slot for which you register.

Q: Do collectibles need to be from Maryland or the Chesapeake region?
A: No. We welcome collectibles from anywhere in the world!

Q: Can you appraise my antique if I send a photograph and skip the event?
A: No. MPT has no appraisers on staff. Over 20 certified appraisers will be ready to provide expert oral evaluations at the taping event for Chesapeake Collectibles.

Q: What constitutes "a collection?"
A: A collection is a group of closely related items. Registrants are allowed a maximum of 3 items; however, a collection may be considered a single item. Examples: a tea set or a small group of portraits by the same artist are each considered to be one item. Paintings by a variety of painters are separate items.

Q: Where is my ticket?
A: There are no tickets. When you pledge, we add your name to a Master Admission List. Simply bring your antiques to Turf Valley on the day and at the time you chose when pledging.
