Premieres Thursday, October 29 at 9pm

Join State Archivist Elaine Rice Bachmann for This Old State House as she takes viewers on a tour of the building and grounds.  Leading the audience through the Maryland State House to explore its key architectural features and artistic treasures, she meets other experts to help explain how the building has evolved over time, showcasing the history of Maryland government from the 17th century to the present day. An archivist, curator, and art historian, who also serves as secretary of the State House Trust, Bachmann provides unique insight into the history of the building and its decor, providing ‘behind the scenes’ access to areas outside the public spaces.

From architecture to art, This Old State House offers a journey into the heart of one of the nation's most historically significant structures, revealing the stories embedded in its walls and dome, cementing its place not just as a state capitol, but as an important piece of the American story.
