With a goal of $12.5 million, our comprehensive campaign called Trusted, Valued, Essential: The Campaign for MPT is the largest fundraising effort in the station’s 50-year history, and it comes at a time of change and opportunity in public media.
As MPT competes in a rapidly changing media landscape, we recognize that our role as a public media station is more important than ever and that our core values set us apart from our commercial counterparts.
• We believe that people want to know and understand the world around them and that we are all nurtured by exposure to the arts, nature, science, and innovation.
• We believe that children deserve a safe and substantive learning environment.
• We believe that our society is enhanced when people have access to differing perspectives, presented in a balanced way and free from commercial influence.
• We believe that individuals who participate in civic life and civil discourse are more content with their lives, and the shared goals of society are advanced when people engage with their communities.
Taking root in these beliefs, the campaign’s priority giving areas of education, endowment, and programming represent our greatest opportunities for sustained, mission-driven impact on the citizens we serve.
As the campaign enters its public phase and final months, we're gratified by the gifts and pledges already received that are helping us near that $12.5 million goal. Donors to the campaign, quite simply, are investing dollars to foster the continuation of a service they've come to value. We are grateful for this vote of confidence in our work.
