The Gene: An Intimate History

Thanks to a grant from our sister station WETA to support engagement activities surrounding The Gene: An Intimate History, MPT teamed up with the Baltimore UnderGround Science Space (BUGSS) on a genetics project.  The BioCrew's project aims to reduce the effects of depression and anxiety by utilizing human genes, cloning them and seeing if they increase serotonin production. To learn more about this project click here. This project is part of The International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) competition. iGEM brings together students from around the world in a global competition for teams of high school, college, and overgrad students. Click here for more details.
