Lifeblood: Chesapeake River Stories
Premieres Sunday, April 19th at 7:00pm on MPT
How do you describe the power of fresh, free-flowing water?
There are more than 100,000 rivers, creeks, and streams that thread their way through the six states that comprise the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. This vast vascular network carries billions of gallons of water into the Bay each day, impacting lives and livelihoods along the way.
Lifeblood: Chesapeake River Stories examines the waterways that shape and sustain the Bay’s landscapes and communities, from the perspective of those that live, work, and play in the watershed. Watch expert whitewater kayakers navigate Great Falls–the Potomac’s notorious stretch of waterfalls and rapids, follow a pair of acclaimed driftwood artists as they search for inspiration along the Patuxent, and join prospectors panning for gold in the Susquehanna, a river with ancient roots.
Through these stories and more, discover what the water means to us as individuals, communities, and the region as a whole.
Major Funding for Lifeblood Chesapeake River Stories provided by The Nature Conservancy. Additional funding provided by Watermark.
